Senior IT Internal Auditor - Bristol - Central

Element are partnering with a highly prestigious company based in Bristol to recruit a Senior IT Internal Auditor to be responsible for leading technology focussed internal audit engagements.  This includes performing all audit work to a high standard, managing relationships with stakeholders and providing assurance on the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management.

You will use analytical skills to diagnose complex issues and at the completion of audits, you will agree remedial work with management to address the identified findings and then track the implementation of this work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver technology focused audits; evaluating risk and control environment against technology good practice and emerging trends
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with managers across the business to influence improvements in the risk and control frameworks
• Apply strong analytical and listening skills to understand the key strengths and weaknesses of the various elements of investment management platforms and administration systems
• Working on one’s own initiative or leading small teams that may include third party auditors
• At the completion of testing, meet with management to discuss results of testing and agree remedial work to address the identified issues and then track to completion
• Supporting the Head of Internal Audit, including preparation of deliverables for governance committees and providing guidance and mentoring to less-experienced auditors

Essential:

• Degree educated, or professional qualifications preferably within an IT based field
• Good understanding of Information Security Practices 
• Knowledge of a range of technologies and technology control standards
• 2 years’ experience in an IT based role OR 2 years’ experience in an IT audit role
• Strong communicator (written and verbal)
