As a Risk & Controls Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end SOX compliance program, including control design, documentation, testing, and remediation.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX requirements by identifying control gaps and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain and update the Vertical’s SOX controls library in line with process and risk changes.
  • Develop and execute the internal controls strategy, focusing on operational efficiency, compliance, and risk mitigation.
  • Identify and implement improvements within the control framework to streamline compliance activities.
  • Conduct periodic risk assessments and adjust control activities in line with the evolving risk profile.
  • Partner with process owners to design and enhance controls, including for new processes, products, and systems.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for SOX audits and internal control matters, managing testing and audit coordination.
  • Review audit findings, drive prompt remediation, and support continuous improvement across functions.
  • Oversee the annual review of top enterprise risks and ensure updates to mitigation plans.
  • Facilitate quarterly risk management forums, promoting proactive risk identification and management by senior stakeholders.

This is a standalone role with the opportunity to grow a team around you. We are looking for someone hands on who is solution orientated and able to facilitate efficiencies. 

Your Profile:

  • Ideally a qualified accountant (ACA / ICAS / ICAEW / ACCA)
  • Experience in industry / ability to implement control frameworks
  • SOX experience would be desirable but not essential
  • Strong communicator, ability to influence and challenge
  • Hands on, a "do-er"
