Contract: Temporary, approximately 8 weeks (to assist with backlog)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Pay Rate: £13.50 per hour + holiday pay paid on top

The firm has experienced an increased volume of client activity and requires immediate front-of-house support to maintain their high standards of service.

The Role

This is a fully office-based temporary Receptionist position covering an 8-week period to help the firm manage an exceptional backlog of client enquiries and administrative tasks. Based on reception, you will be the first point of contact for clients and visitors and play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the front desk.

Key Duties

Meeting and greeting clients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner

Managing a busy switchboard and directing calls to the appropriate fee earner or department

Handling a high volume of email enquiries and responding or forwarding as appropriate

Managing meeting room bookings and preparing rooms ahead of client appointments

Processing incoming and outgoing post

Updating client records and contact information on the case management system

Providing general administrative support to fee earners and support staff as required

Assisting with scanning, filing and document management tasks

Skills & Experience Required

Previous experience in a receptionist or front-of-house role is essential as limited training can be provided due to the fast-paced environment

Confident and professional telephone manner with excellent verbal communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Well-presented, personable and able to represent the firm to a high standard

Ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment, managing competing demands calmly

Good written communication skills for email correspondence

Prior experience in a legal or professional services environment is advantageous but not essential

Availability

The firm is looking for someone to start as soon as possible. This role is only suitable for candidates who are available immediately or on a notice period of no more than one week.
