People Operations Team Leader - Wiltshire

Element Recruitment are partnering with a business in Wiltshire, who are in urgent need of a Temporary People Operations Team Leader (TL). As TL, you will provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight of the People Operations and Onboarding Administrators responsible for onboarding employed staff and managing employee lifecycle changes. The role ensures that requests via the People Ops ticketing system are processed accurately and efficiently, onboarding is delivered smoothly, and the team provides a consistent and high-quality HR service.

  • 3 – 6 month contract, likely to go temp to perm for the right person
  • £18.23 per hour
  • 4 days working from home, 1 day in the office

 

Duties include:

  • Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, and support to the Administrators in the employed stream.
  • Allocate and monitor workloads to ensure timely and accurate delivery of onboarding, employee lifecycle changes, and ticket resolution.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for queries, issues, or complex cases within the stream.
  • Hold regular check-ins with team members to review progress, provide feedback, and support development.
  • Support the reduction of avoidable admin errors by embedding clear processes and checks.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection, safeguarding, and internal People policies in all admin activity.

You will need:

  • Experience of supervising or coaching others in a People Ops/administrative environment (formal line management desirable but not essential).
  • Good working knowledge of HR administrative processes, including onboarding and employee lifecycle activities.
  • Familiarity with HR systems and ticketing platforms.
  • Understanding of GDPR and handling of sensitive employee data.
  • Experience of process improvement in an HR or operations setting (desirable).
