Management Accountant - Midsomer Norton

Element are pleased to be supporting a growing client with the recruitment of a Management Accountant to join their finance team in Paulton, just south of Bristol.

This would suit someone part qualified or finalising their studies looking for a long term role working with a dynamic and engaging line manager who'll support your career progression and aspirations.

Role & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with external stakeholders to prepare accurate and timely budgets, management accounts, and financial forecasts across multiple schools.
• Assist in the development and ongoing management of financial systems to maintain accurate records and deliver reliable financial reporting to budget holders.
• Ensure adherence to statutory regulations and financial policies
• Support the annual financial planning cycle, including preparation and review of budgets.
• Advise and assist budget holders in managing their budgets effectively, ensuring value for money and identifying opportunities for additional funding or savings.
• Ad hoc support of senior members of staff
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and other key financial controls on a regular basis.
• Contribute to internal audit activities, including reviewing internal controls
• VAT returns, audit preparations, and submission of budgetary returns.

Key Characteristics

• ACCA, CIMA, finalist or part qualified
• Experienced with management accounts
• confident communicator
• Adept with Excel and Microsoft office.
• Able to work as part of a team
