Element Recruitment is proud to be supporting a well-established legal practice in Portishead as they look to appoint an experienced Legal Secretary to join their busy and friendly team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and organised individual with previous legal support experience to play a key role in supporting fee earners and ensuring the smooth running of matters within a fast-paced legal environment.
The Role
Working closely with solicitors and other legal professionals, you will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support across a range of residential property matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing day-to-day secretarial support to solicitors and fee earners
- Drafting and formatting legal documents and correspondence
- Preparing SDLT forms, transfer deeds and related documentation
- Opening and closing client files
- Managing client onboarding and AML procedures
- Handling telephone and email enquiries professionally
- Liaising with clients, estate agents and third parties to provide updates
- Producing letters and documents using the case management system
- Maintaining accurate file records and documentation
- Supporting the wider team with general administrative duties
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or Legal Administrator
- Experience within Residential Conveyancing would be advantageous
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- A professional and confident telephone manner
- Strong typing and document production abilities
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and case management systems
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines
- A proactive and team-oriented approach
