Financial Accounting Manager | Household brand - Bristol - Central

Element are partnering closely alongside a well-established and long-standing client to recruit a Financial Accounting Manager. Your role partner closely alongside the Head of Finance in driving the financial performance of the business.

This role will report directly to the Head of Financial Reporting and will be responsible for the leadership/mentorship of a growing finance function (5 FTE).

As a Financial Reporting Manager your responsibilities will comprise but not be limited to:

To manage Balance sheet, Cashflow and Month-end submission process. To also assist with external and internal audits, statutory accounts submissions, manage a team of 5 and work closely with the tax team on corporation tax & VAT matters
Ensure month end tasks are completed within the agreed timetable, this includes managing the balance sheet and cashflow, as well as submitting the IFRS reported figures and manage the Solvency II quarterly requirements.
Manage 5 members of staff.
To reconcile and review balance sheet accounts and follow up on any issues/ queries raised.
To assist with the year-end audit, with particular focus on providing a consolidated TB and managing the high risk balance sheet areas.
To ensure the statutory accounts for all companies in the Group are submitted accurately and on time.
To liaise with the tax team and deal with corporation tax & VAT matters as required.
Manage the Capex team, ensuring accurate reporting of spend vs budget and items are capitalised promptly.
To assist with maintaining and enhancing the system of internal controls for the business.
To assist with strategic business projects and provide ad hoc support for the Head of Financial Control.

The Profile

Proven supervisory/management experience
Ideally qualified (ACA/ACCA/) with >2 years PQE
Strong month-end/year-end exposure
Good communication skills with the ability to work with non-finance stakeholders
