Finance Manager | Stroud | High-Growth Telecoms | £55,000 - £65,000

Are you a technically strong Finance Manager looking for role where you can add instant value and progress? We are partnering with a leading UK Telecommunications organisation headquartered near Stroud, currently undergoing a period of rapid expansion through strategic acquisitions. To support this growth, we are looking for a hands-on, technically adept Finance Manager to lead the core accounting functions and mentor a growing team. This role will report into the Director of Finance with a view to developing into an FC title.

The Role:

This is a pivotal position that balances high-level technical oversight with the management of daily financial operations. You will ensure the financial foundations remain rock-solid as they scale.

  • Take full ownership of the month-end reporting process and provide accurate management information for the Group.
  • Lead the preparation of statutory accounts and act as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
  • Navigate complex technical accounting issues including acquisition accounting and revenue recognition.
  • Ensure full compliance with UK GAAP or IFRS across all newly acquired and existing entities.
  • Manage the Group’s tax position, including the preparation and submission of VAT returns and Corporation Tax compliance.
  • Mentor and develop a small, dedicated finance team to ensure high standards of performance.
  • Perform regular deep-dive balance sheet reconciliations to maintain the integrity of the nominal ledger.
  • Maintain the group fixed asset register, tracking significant infrastructure and hardware investments.
  • Oversee intercompany accounting, ensuring all balances are reconciled and eliminated correctly upon consolidation.
  • Produce and monitor cash flow forecasts to support liquidity management and future acquisition planning.
  • Draft and implement group-wide accounting policies to ensure consistency across the organisation.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline reporting as the group scales.

Your Profile

  • ACA / ACCA qualified with post-qualification experience. This would suit a “second mover”.
  • Strong knowledge of technical accounting standards like UK GAAP / IFRS
  • Ideally, you’ve worked in an acquisitive or fast paced environment
  • A supportive manager who can empower a small team while remaining in the detail when necessary.
