Finance Manager

Central Bristol £33,000 – £40,000 (DOE) | Full Time, Permanent

I’m currently partnered with a market-leading business in their sector — known for innovation, quality, and consistent growth — and they’re now looking for a Finance Manager to join their senior leadership team.

This is a pivotal hire for the business and a fantastic opportunity for someone who’s not just looking for their next role, but wants to make a real impact. They’re looking for someone who is proactive, commercially minded, and ready to go above and beyond.

The Opportunity

As Finance Manager, you’ll be the strategic lead for the finance function — reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely with department heads. You’ll play a critical role in guiding financial decision-making, improving processes, and supporting sustainable growth.

This business is well-established but still growing, with exciting plans ahead. They’re looking for someone who sees the big picture but can also roll their sleeves up and get stuck in when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of the finance function, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance
  • Produce monthly management accounts and provide insights to support strategic decisions
  • Work closely with the leadership team to shape business plans and assess commercial opportunities
  • Manage cash flow, working capital and cost controls
  • Oversee and support the finance assistant with transactional processes
  • Drive improvements in financial systems, reporting, and controls
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required
  • Contribute to leadership meetings and influence cross-functional decision-making

What They’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate will be a confident and commercially aware finance professional who thrives in a leadership role. You’ll be someone who brings both technical expertise and a forward-thinking mindset to the table.

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a Finance Manager, Management Accountant, or similar role
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, reporting, and business partnering
  • Ability to lead a small team or function independently
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to advise at board level
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with cloud-based accounting systems (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)

Desirable:

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA), or qualified by experience
  • Experience in a fast-paced, growing SME environment
  • Previous involvement in systems upgrades or process improvement projects

What’s on Offer:

  • Competitive salary of £33,000 – £40,000, depending on experience
  • Influence at senior level as part of the leadership team
  • Real progression opportunities as the company continues to grow
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Flexible working options
  • A supportive, forward-thinking culture where contributions are truly valued

Interested?
If you’re ready to step into a role where your input will shape the future of the business — and you’re not afraid to go the extra mile — I’d love to speak with you.
