We are working exclusively with a highly respected and successful business based in Bath that is looking to appoint a skilled Credit Controller to join their dynamic finance team. About the Role:
As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring timely payment of invoices, and maintaining healthy cash flow for the business. You’ll be a key point of contact for clients and internal departments, playing an integral role in the wider finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively chase outstanding debts by phone, email, and letter in line with agreed terms.
- Monitor and manage the aged debt report, ensuring all overdue accounts are followed up.
- Resolve customer queries in a timely and professional manner, liaising with relevant departments when needed.
- Allocate incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts accurately.
- Maintain clear records of communication and actions taken.
- Assist with month-end reporting and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Recommend accounts for escalation or legal action where necessary.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience in a credit control or accounts receivable role.
- Confident communicator with a strong telephone manner and negotiation skills.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage priorities.
- Comfortable working with finance systems and Microsoft Excel.
- A team player with a proactive and results-driven approach.
