Overview:

My client is a very well-established firm of accountants based in North Bristol who are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Business Services Client Manager to lead a portfolio of small to medium-sized clients, while managing and developing a high-performing Business Services Team.

 

You’ll be the key point of contact for clients, ensuring compliance, delivering strategic advice, and identifying opportunities to add value. Working closely with Directors and Heads of Department, you’ll help drive service excellence and support the firm’s long-term growth strategy.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a varied portfolio of clients.
  • Act as primary contact for client queries and relationship management.
  • Ensure all compliance, statutory accounts, and tax returns are completed accurately and on time.
  • Lead and attend client meetings
  • Identify advisory opportunities and additional services to support client growth.
  • Monitor budgets, manage workflow, and prevent overruns.
  • Team leadership & development
  • Lead, mentor, and review the work of the Business Services Team.
  • Deliver constructive feedback and training to staff.
  • Ensure all work complies with internal procedures and quality standards.
  • Operational & strategic support
  • Plan assignments, manage deadlines, and oversee workflow tracking.
  • Conduct final reviews of financial statements and tax computations.
  • Liaise with Directors and other departments to deliver consultancy services.

 

Education/Qualifications required:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong background in practice within Business Services/Accounts.
  • Proven experience managing client portfolios and leading teams.
  • Confident communicator with strong commercial awareness.
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
