Accounts Technician - Exeter

The Accounts Technician will be responsible for supporting the delivery of high-quality accountancy services to a varied client portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to develop technical expertise within a professional and supportive environment, working closely with senior team members and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of financial statements for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders up to the audit threshold
• Preparation of personal and corporate tax computations and returns
• Provision of bookkeeping and management accounting services
• Submission of statutory documents to Companies House and HMRC on behalf of clients
• Maintenance of accurate and up-to-date accounting records
• Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns
• Ensuring compliance with internal policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements
• Providing administrative support to Partners, Managers, and other team members
• Undertaking additional duties and projects as required, consistent with the level of the role

Technical Skills

• Experience preparing accounts for limited companies and unincorporated businesses
• Proficiency in bookkeeping and general accounting principles
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Experience

• Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience working within an accountancy practice (essential)
