Accounts Assistant - Gloucestershire

Element are pleased to be recruiting for an international client headquartered in Gloucestershire. This is an excellent role for someone AAT Part Qualified or Qualified with accounts and VAT knowledge who is looking to build on this and progress internally alongside a growing company.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Accurate and timely recording of financial transactions,
  • Handling accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Maintaining and updating company ledgers
  • Performing bank reconciliations
  • Facilitate the preparation of month-end management accounts
  • Managing debtor ledger and performing credit control
  • Processing supplier invoices
  • Posting journals, prepayments, and accruals as required
  • Conducting periodic closing procedures and reconciliations
  • Handling the filing and archiving of financial documentation
  • Processing VAT returns
  • Managing customer and supplier queries
  • Assisting senior finance leadership with ad hoc duties

Key Characteristics

  • Able to work effectively as part of a close knit team
  • Strong communication skills & attention to detail
  • Have strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
  • Strong IT skills
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of packages
  • Willing to learn unfamiliar software
  • Able to work effectively to deadlines
