Element Recruitment is working with a well-established professional services firm in Wiltshire to support the search for an Accounts Administrator to join their accounts department.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Accounts Administrator, Finance Assistant, or Accounts Assistant looking to join a professional and supportive environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and efficiently while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

The Role

You will provide financial and administrative support to the wider business, helping to manage financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and assist with a range of accounting and operational processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing daily online banking activities and financial transactions
  • Processing and allocating payments, receipts, fees and other account transactions accurately
  • Maintaining accurate account records and balances
  • Handling card payments, cheques and cash transactions
  • Supporting the administration of high-value transactions and ensuring all documentation is checked and processed correctly
  • Assisting with month-end reporting and reconciliations
  • Preparing payment runs and supporting wider operational finance processes
  • Inputting supplier invoices onto the finance system
  • Responding to internal account queries and providing support across the business
  • Ensuring compliance with internal procedures while maintaining a high level of accuracy

About You

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Administrator, Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or similar role
  • Experience working within a fast-paced accounts environment and managing deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Strong data entry and administrative skills
  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage your own workload and work independently when required
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and confidence using finance systems
  • Professional, organised and proactive approach to work
  • A team player with the ability to build positive relationships across the business
  • Experience using Sage or similar accounting software would be advantageous
