Meeting the Senior Leadership team

27 June 2025

Our work experience student Joe caught up with 3 of our Senior Leadership Team to find out what it's like to work at Element.

During my week at element, I interviewed some of the senior leadership team to find out what makes element the right place for them to work at and what makes it great.

The first senior I spoke to was Zoe and from the talk I had with her I have concluded that Element recognises success through promotions, social events and verbal recognition. They provide flexibility and autonomy, and you get greater development opportunities from Element  being a smaller business who cares about its people. The things that separated element recruitment from other recruitment businesses is that they are specialist consultants who have been in the business for a number of years and know their markets, the team take time and care to build relationships with clients and candidates. I also learnt that Zoe specialises in HR and business support but also looks after training and development for new employees following a recent promotion.

The second senior that I spoke to was Lucy and from the talk I learnt that Element allows hybrid working for flexibility, this means Lucy can do nursery pick up and drop off as well as allowing her to spend valuable time with her two toddlers. Lucy started at Element as a complete rookie, previously she worked in HR at The Probation Service and after being made redundant she contacted Steph (as she used her for her temps in probation leading to her ending up getting a job there). When Lucy joined it was much smaller, and Steph taught her one on one how to do temp recruitment and after 7 years she is now a Business Development Director. Lucy’s favourite company incentives and social events are trips to Palma and early finishes on Friday as this is a good incentive to help hit your targets. Lucy also specialises in temporary business support and transactional finance.

The last senior that I interviewed was Tom and from Toms answers I have concluded that as a business Element is very open with communication and enjoy sharing information and opportunities for everyone to succeed. The office environment is buzzing whilst at the same time being very friendly as everyone is both accessible and approachable. Element offer a lot of flexibility to employees which means Tom is able to take time from his day to go to the gym, walk the dog or play golf, which is encouraged to keep a healthy balanced mindset in the ‘crazy world of recruitment’. Tom feels that the company recognises and celebrates success through everyone sharing in the company achieving its goals but individual incentives such as trips away or even a Friday afternoon off is well received by the team. Tom’s specialist line of recruitment is both temp and perm qualified finance recruitment.
