How did you hear about Element? Previously I worked as an Estate Agent and was dealing with a customer who worked in recruitment, I asked about what recruitment involved, liked the sound of it and applied for a job with the company, the rest is history!
What appealed to you about a career in recruitment? The fact that recruitment offers an opportunity to take control of your career. You can progress quickly and be rewarded for your efforts. No day is the same and even the bad weeks mean that the good weeks are even better. You’ll never be bored.
What is the best bit about the job? There are lots of best bits….The team are brilliant, I love coming into the office everyday and working with a great team. The earning potential and the flexibility to work how I want to. I can have a day out of the office on meetings and the next can be office based, I’m able to work the way that suits me. The social events are always good fun and I’ve just got back from a trip to Palma that was amazing!
What is the toughest bit? The first 6 months, it was a steep learning curve, coming from a job where I was an expert and starting from the beginning again was hard. But with the support and training from my manager and the team I was able to get up and running and soon felt confident in my role.
What advice would you give someone starting in recruitment. Be prepared to work hard and put the effort in. Be as busy as you can be, learn from any mistakes you make and treat people well. I try to give everyone a high level of service and do what’s right for them.
What’s it like working at Element? Amazing. Supportive team, friendly office environment and the flexibility to work in a way that suits me.
What has the next 12 months got in store for you? I'm on track to reach my promotion target to managing consultant by the end of this year, this will be my second promotion at Element. I was promoted to senior Consultant after 12 months with Element.
