Tech Lead - Front End - Remote Based

Our client is looking for a fully remote front end tech lead on a permanent contract. You will be working in a remote team including other software engineers, UI designers and a project manager working in an Agile environment, and you will also share best practice and insights with other product teams. As well as having the required technical skills, communication is a critical skill especially as the team will be largely remote, so sharing progress and working collaboratively online will be a vital part of the role. Attention to detail and ensuring our products are accessible to all users are critical to all front end development and we are looking for someone who is as happy perfecting the finer UI details as they are experimenting and testing new software.

Your technical skills:

• React, JSX, HTML, CSS
• Experience using state management (e.g. Redux, Contexts)
• Understanding of JavaScript Fundamentals (ES6+)
• Git
• Unit Testing
• Experience working with complex relational databases
• Experience building responsive web applications

Desirable:

• Visualisation skills in SVG/D3 or similar
• People management skills, leadership
• Experience with Linux and Docker for CI/CD pipelines and deployment

Other desirable technical skills:

• AWS (Amplify, S3)
• Storybook, TailwindCSS, CSS-in-JS styling
• Accessibility
• Functional Programming
• Clojure/ClojureScript

Your background:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ideally a BSc in a CS / Science based degree, or equivalent knowledge
• Team player, self-motivated, hard-working, keen to learn
• Experience of working in the sports media industry would be a bonus
• Commercial experience using a range of software languages
