Senior Tax Assistant

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to join a successful and progressive firm as a Senior Tax Assistant.  The right candidate must be very numerical, have a strong written and verbal communication skills and most importantly, must be good in person. 

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the group’s Corporation Tax and VAT reporting
• Tax accounting, including assisting with internal quarterly reporting and the year end audit process;
• Assisting with the identification; mapping and implementation of improvements to the group’s tax functions to help manage risks and increase efficiencies;
• Month end VAT journals and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assistance with preparation of annual corporation tax returns
• Review product classification to ensure that the correct VAT is applied;
• Posting of accounting journals and reconciliations to assist the department at month end.

Skills

• Previous experience of UK VAT returns is essential
• Previous experience of International VAT is desirable
• Studying for or qualified to ATT/ACCA/ACA standard or equivalent
• Highly numerate and proficient Excel user
