Senior Credit Controller - Bristol

Senior Credit Controller | Central Bristol | 1 day a month in the office | £28,000 - £32,000

We are looking for a diligent and proactive Credit Controller to manage and oversee all aspects of our company’s credit control operations. The Credit Controller will be responsible for monitoring customer accounts, ensuring timely payments, and minimizing bad debt risks. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and a firm but fair approach to credit management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely and accurate payments.
• Review and assess credit applications and establish customer credit limits based on company policies.
• Conduct regular account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
• Chase overdue invoices by phone, email, and letter within agreed timescales.
• Maintain accurate records of all credit control activities and communications.
• Prepare regular reports on outstanding balances, credit status, and collection efforts for management review.
• Liaise with customers to negotiate repayment plans and ensure that terms are adhered to.
• Collaborate with the sales and finance teams to address any billing issues and improve the credit control process.
• Monitor and report on aged debt and take appropriate action to mitigate risks.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing credit control practices.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a credit controller or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of credit control principles, practices, and regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
