Family owned and entrepreneurial business situated in the outskirts of Gloucester, is currently seeking a Purchase Ledger Clerk. An enviable leader in its market, this business prides itself on delivering first class customer service at all levels.

The Role:

This role will be working within a small, hardworking but friendly office environment. You will be liaising with other members of the finance team to make sure that all ledgers are kept up to date and accurately processed.

You will have prior experience of working with high volumes of invoices, be highly accurate with excellent communication skills. You will also be responsible for addressing and resolving queries from a diverse background of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Match supplier invoices against goods received notes
  • Entering invoices on Sage
  • Dealing with supplier calls, emails and invoice queries
  • Setting up new suppliers on Sage and updating supplier records
  • Request copy invoices/credit notes & statements
  • Liaising with goods in department
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements
  • General accounting administration duties

The Successful Applicant:

To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate the following;

  • Understanding and experience in Accounts Payable
  • Strong excel skills
  • Good attention to detail along with excellent communication skills
  • Sage Line 50 (desirable not essential)
  • Self-starter with the motivation and get stuck in and use initiative
  • Experience in a busy and fast paced environment would be advantageous
