UK Payroll Manager
You will be part of a lively finance team of 15, taking responsibility for the weekly and monthly temporary worker payrolls. These responsibilities include all processing of timesheets, holiday accruals, statutory payments, RTI submissions, year end processes, auto enrolment pensions etc.
Responsible for the weekly 80 – 100 temps split over 4 or 5 clients
Responsible for the monthly temp payrolls for 250+ temps split over 5 or 6 clients
Responsible for 3 other group companies payrolls between 1 and 10 employees per company
Processing all starters and leavers each week / month, roughly 30 – 40 starters per month and 20 to 30 leavers
Supported by a finance team member processing the weekly payroll and assisting with elements of the monthly payroll, this person will continue to assist with the processing element under the guidance of the successful candidate.
Outside of ensuring all of the payrolls are run accurately and on time, added responsibilities include
Dealing with all queries from the temps regarding their payroll
Creation of welcome packs for all new temps so that they can easily understand the payroll process
Creation of easy to use guides on the UK payroll / tax system as many of the temps are working in the UK for the first time
Liaising with Managers to ensure that all of their Clients are receiving high levels of service
Liaising with the rest of the Accounts Team in sorting out temp queries
Skills and Experience required
The successful individual needs to have a very good working knowledge of the UK payroll system, as well as the ability to prioritise workload in what can be a very busy and sometimes stressful environment.
You will also need to be confident, comfortable to supervise, train and motivate staff as well as being able to analyse processes to improve efficiencies
