Based just off the M5 between Bristol and Gloucester, this International Group provides technology solutions across a number of sectors, with a global reach across multiple business applications and markets. Award-winning and entrepreneurial this company is an exciting business at a very interesting stage of its evolution.

Private Equity backed, to execute a buy and build growth strategy to significantly accelerate the growth of the business. A couple of major acquisitions later, the recently formed finance structure provides the key accounting, transactional and reporting services for the group.

This role is a fantastic opportunity to join the team, working with the CFO and leading the finance function of the Group. The Group Financial Controller will be responsible for a small capable team, but expected to increase as further M&A activity adds complexity to the Group. The role reports directly to the CFO.

We are looking for a delivery focused, reliable and solution orientated individual coming from a fast-paced environment preferably with some technology experience.

You will

  • Complete key control account reconciliations and maintenance of interfaces from operating systems to the finance system, ensuring that the performance and financial position of the business is reported accurately each month on a timely basis.
  • Maintain the general ledger and manage a number of international entites.
  • With support from the COO, administer and further develop core finance and reporting platforms.
  • A new ERP system goes-live in November and you will be heavily involved in any post go-live issues or changes
  • Ensuring adherence to expenditure budgets across the Group.
  • Preparing the monthly Group consolidation and supporting analysis.
  • Responsibility for running the payroll across the Group and ensuring compliance with local filing obligations (eg PAYE returns).
  • Responsibility for purchase ledger, ensuring suppliers are paid on time and consolidating this activity at head office to create a shared service centre for the Group.
  • Administer key aspects of the treasury function, including management and improvement of cash flow, forex risk management and ensuring that the team have adequately reconciled bank accounts.
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors, preparing audit pack. Responsible for timely payment of taxes and compliance with local filing obligations (eg VAT returns).
  • Prepare annual financial statements.

You are

  • Experienced in a similar role in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong IT skills. Have some hands-on experience of implementation or management of recent ERP technology.
  • An effective communicator with strong attention to detail and able to deliver accurate information in a timely manner.
  • Whilst experienced, you will be comfortable in a hands-on position with significant breadth of responsibility
  • Able to manage team members remotely.
  • Comfortable during a period of change and growth.
  • Able to improve processes and cash flow.
  • Experienced in taking a small business to a big business control environment.
  • Some experience of working in a technology environment.
  • Qualified CIMA / ACCA / ACA.
