The Role

We're currently recruiting a Financial Accountant for an established and leading business in Bristol. You will join the business at a really exciting time as they continue to grow and develop. The Financial Accountant will manage the integrity of the balance sheet for all group entities, ensuring that monthly balance sheet reconciliations are completed and that appropriate substantiation procedures are in place; whilst delivering monthly and year-end balance sheet reporting for analysis.

They’ll support the Financial Controller with the production of the annual statutory accounts and management of the year end audit process, including production of technical accounting papers.

Responsibilities will include:

• Providing technical accounting advice and updates to members of the wider finance teams and broader business whilst owning the monthly and annual consolidation process.
• Leading our finance team and your direct reports in ensuring a high standard of performance is achieved and all deadlines met, managing and developing performance, and providing opportunities for CPD;
• Managing our Capital accounting, ensuring that the fixed asset register is appropriately maintained and that assets are capitalised in accordance with accounting policies.
• Overseeing our Transactional accounting and be responsible for leading the team to complete all billing activity, credit control, purchase ledger processing and cash processing.  Ensuring that the financial controls for all financial cycles operate effectively.
• Managing our Treasury, the administration of all bank accounts, ensuring that bank reconciliations are completed, preparing cashflow analysis and forecasts accordingly.

Your Profile:

• Qualified ACA / ACCA with 0-5 years PQE
• Strong team management/leadership experience
• Strong working knowledge of Excel
• Working knowledge of a large ERP system preferrable
• Good communication skills, with an ability to interact with multiple business stakeholders
