Finance Business Partner

The Finance Business Partner is part of the wider Finance team and will aim to assist with helping to achieve its strategic and operational objectives and ensuring that it delivers a high quality and cost-effective service.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Trusted resource to the Director to help deliver the division strategy
• Work closely with the Senior Management team to support the strategy
• Advanced analysis of division performance – vs. budget, forecast, prior year
• Preparation of budgets and forecasts
• Early warning of emerging trends
• Benchmarking performance against external market data
• Preparation of scorecard and group reporting packs
• Ad hoc analysis of performance
• Development of business cases for new initiatives
• Tracking of business case benefits
• Support Finance Director and Head of Finance with ad hoc analysis where relevant
• Work closely with the MI team to ensure all required MI and analysis is produced
• Support the wider finance team on ad – hoc work
Requirements
• Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
• Qualified in industry or moved into industry after qualifying
• Industry experience – commercial acumen essential
• Strong personality and ability to influence decision makers within the organisation
• Budgeting and forecasting experience
• Understands the importance of complying with Regulatory requirements
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
• Good eye for detail; ability to work with large amounts of data in a timely but accurate manner
• Numerate and investigative – gets to the route of problems and does not accept the first answer
• Friendly, helpful and able to relate well to colleagues – the role works across multiple teams within the business and will often have to translate an accounting problem into non-technical terms
• Flexible and willing to “muck in” with whatever needs doing in the department
• Advanced excel skills and strong modelling skills.
This role would suit candidates currently in a Finance Business Partner or Management Accountant or Finance Manager role in a corporate environment.
