Category Manager (4 month FTC) - Bristol

Role: Category Manager

Salary £45,000 - £50,000

Element Recruitment are partnering exclusively for this large organisation to help them find 2 x Category Managers for a 4-month FTC to be part of a project. This is a remote working role.

• Carrying out category tenders that are aligned with category strategies that are appropriate to deliver the best value and high levels of service to the business.
• Generate savings potential within category; understand the supplier landscape, supplier performance and current trends
• Lead partner relationships to drive effective customer relations within the business
• Collaborate closely with business to develop and confirm category demand plans
• Responsible for the development and implementation of the sourcing, negotiation and contracting strategies for relevant categories
• Prepare for and lead complex supplier negotiations
• Lead and govern execution of sourcing processes within the category
• Conduct contract reviews with the business to ensure contract continuity and workload planning for Procurement and the Technical Officers

You will:

• Have relevant qualification to Chartered (MCIPS) status is preferred. Additional post-graduate or professional qualification(s) will be an advantage, especially relevant degree and formal management qualification
• A proven track record to lead tender processes and negotiation of robust contracts using NEC and MF templates.
• An expert understanding of goods / service supply markets including cost and value drivers in the supply chain within Category
• Be highly motivated and possess strong interpersonal skills; candidates should be capable of operating to tight timescales with the minimum of guidance and be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the business
