Accounts Assistant

9 month Fixed Term Contract

Salary - £20,000 - £22,000 + Bens

 

THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a busy Swindon based Finance team. This is initially a 9-month fixed term contract supporting the Finance team with a number of projects over the coming months, with the potential to convert to a Permanent role.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Logging, coding, posting and tracking all purchase ledger invoices/credit notes & payments.

Raising all sales ledger invoices/credit notes, tracking payments and chasing overdue payments

Ensuring all documents are authorised

Preparation of twice weekly cheque banking.

Accounting ad hoc duties – opening AP mail, and distributing, monitoring the AP E-mail inbox, filing

AP invoices and expenses paperwork.

Keeping to all finance deadlines.

Logging expenses, within HMRC guidelines.

Chasing receipts for expenses.

General office duties.

 

Role requirements

  • Qualified by experience or studying towards an accountancy qualification (e.g. AAT)
  • Desirable to have work experience in an accounts department however this role will also suit a strong administrator.
  • Good MS Office Skills
