This is a rare opportunity to join a growing SME in Gloucestershire as an Accounts Assistant. This contract will initially be temporary for 3 months but may be extended with the possibility of going temp to perm, and with study support provided for the right candidate.

As an Accounts Assistant you’ll build on your finance experience & work with a diverse group of internal colleagues. You’re comfortable working with minimal supervision, self-motivated & task-orientated. You enjoy multi-tasking & having a varied workflow, including accounting & general office support. This role would suit someone who is looking to develop their career in finance and accounting, with the intention of studying towards an accountancy qualification. 

The role will involve:

•  Posting Sales and Purchase Ledger invoices
•  Cashbook reconciliations
•  Credit Control
•  Cash allocation
•  Balance sheet reconciliations
•  Processing expenses
•  Assisting with VAT returns
•  Processing journals
 
About you:
•  Ideally 1-2 years’ experience working in a finance department
•  Be qualified or studying AAT ​with a goal to study ACCA or CIMA
•  Strong interpersonal skills, able to engage with finance/non-finance staff
•  Able to multi-task & adapt to the business needs
•  Strong Excel skills
